About this training course

Course duration: Introduction – 6.5 hours (this includes break time refreshments but please bring your own lunch) / Refresher – 3.5 hours
Training delivered: Face-to-face

The moving and assisting of people is a mandatory training requirement for anyone working in Care who is involved in assisting people with their mobility. During this course, amongst other things, we will look at the physiology of your spine and your back, how it works and how to look after it, plus the law and your responsibilities, and how to assess the risks in your moving and assisting tasks. You will also get the opportunity to use a variety of relevant equipment and watch practical demonstrations.

The full day Introduction to moving and assisting courses should be attended by people new to care or anyone who needs a more in-depth reminder.

The Refresher courses are recommended to be taken each year thereafter by Skills for Care.
