Frequently asked questions

Below you’ll find a list of FAQs for delegates training with us.

If you or one of your employees is feeling a little nervous about attending training with us, don’t worry, it’s really common. Our friendly learning and development team will be more than happy to answer any questions and put your mind at ease.

There’s no such thing as a stupid question! Please drop us an email at learninganddevelopment@orchard-turst.org.uk or call us on 01594 860 090.

  • Gloucester: There is plenty of on site parking to choose from at our Gloucester site, you’ll have no problem getting a space in the carpark.
  • The lodge: You shouldn’t have any issues getting a space on the gravel car park at the lodge.
  • Central Lydbrook: The carpark at our Central Lydbrook carpark is very small – while you are more than welcome to park in it, if you are nervous about small parking spaces or pulling out onto busy roads on a hill, you might prefer to park on the adjoining road.
All of our venues have accessible toilet facilities that should meet the needs of all of our learners. If you are worried about anything please don’t hesitate to give our team a call.
If you have any problems with reading or writing, just let us know! If you know one of your employees is going to struggle, please let us know in advance and we can make any adaptations needed. If you haven’t been able to let us know in advance then have a quiet word with the trainer and they will be happy to help you with any paperwork or make sure they read everything on the powerpoint clearly.

A few of our courses, such as First Aid do require you to take a short multiple choice quiz at the end of the session – but don’t let that put you off! We can arrange someone to help read the questions to you and write them down if needed.

You are welcome to bring lunch and snacks to all of our training rooms and use the facilities available. Break times will vary depending on the course length, trainer, and group agreement, but each break will normally last between 10 and 20 minutes and hot drinks and biscuits will be made available free of charge.

  • Central Lydbrook: Yes! There is a little shop that sells all the essentials for lunch, and is about 2 minutes walk along the road – perfect for break time.
  • Barnwood: Sainsburys isn’t very far away, although it is a little too far to get to during a break on a course (15 minute walk each way), but it is easy to get to on the way to or from the course if you need to pick up lunch, or dinner on your way home.
  • The Lodge: No, due to its beautiful countryside location, there isn’t a shop within walking distance of the lodge. We recommend you bring lunch or a snack with you for a course at the lodge. We have a fridge and a microwave which you are welcome to use.
