Effective supervisions and appraisals are important to any leadership team. This course will help you to understand what good supervision and appraisals are and why they are important. You will learn about the planning process and how to prepare for supervisions and appraisals, and the importance of supportive feedback and self reflection. 

This interactive course aims to give you the practical skills and confidence to perform better supervisions and appraisals with your team, with direct reference to your own organisation’s policies and forms.

  • Understand what good supervisions and appraisals are and why they are important
  • Identify your local policies, the expectations of the Care Act 2014 and of CQC, and the performance management cycle
  • Explain how to plan/prepare for a supervision/appraisal, and SMART action planning
  • Describe the content of the forms for your organisation and understand the importance of being supportive
  • Show better understanding through discussing and learning about some techniques in a safe learning environment
  • Reflect and consider what happens next for you?
